Motorola RAZR V3m (Red)

How often are you the first to review a particular item? OK, fine, I'm not the first. After all, this is the exact same mobile phone as the V3 but red. Luckily, it is just as good as the V3 but with the added satisfaction that Overnight on the charger will last you the whole day if the mobile gets treated like a mobile phone. However I do not understand who could treat this thing merely as a cheap mobile: The digital camera, while only 1.3 megapixels, takes decent pictures provided there is adequate light. The Sprint Music Store mp3 player is easy to navigate and is well worth the sale price of the phone, provided you have a 1 GB external memory card to hold music with (the 30 MB on the mobile phone is beyond inadequate) and provided you buy the mobile when it is on sale. Reception is immaculate, which is important for someone such as myself who lives encased in many feet of concrete. It looks cool and is well advertised, so everybody knows it is a Razr mobile when it gets pulled out. My wife's biggest problem with the mobile is the sensitive side buttons, which she accidentally presses every time she pulls it out. However these buttons are worth it, being they control the most used functions on the mobile phone when it is open (digital camera and volume control) and allow the mobile phone to remain shut when a headset or bluetooth is plugged in. Quality of sound is high; I have yet to misunderstand the person calling me and the ringer is very loud when it needs to be. The vibrating mechanism is pretty light, but it could be considered be sheer genius that this slim mobile phone even has this feature in the first place. The LCD is bright and readable, however the menus might take some time to decipher. I recommend setting them the 'list' rather than 'icon' to begin with. I suppose my biggest problem with the mobile are the shiny metallic buttons and the LCD screens which need constant cleaning if one wants the phone to look nice. And trust me, this mobile phone will get some reactions from its sleekness. Accessories are cheap and easy to come by on E-bay, where I was able to procure an extra charger, a car charger, a holster, a CD full of ringtones and buttontones, a 1 GB microSD card, and an extra battery all for about $25 after shipping costs. This Motorola mobile phone comes with a wired headset which as far as functionality goes gets an A, but as far as aesthetics gets a D. Overnight on the charger will last you the whole day if the Motorola gets treated like a Motorola. However I do not understand who could treat this thing merely as a mobile phone: The digital camera, while only 1.3 megapixels, takes decent pictures provided there is adequate light. The Sprint Music Store mp3 player is easy to navigate and is well worth the sale price of the mobile phone, provided you have a 1 GB external memory card to hold music with the 30 MB on the phone is beyond inadequate and provided you buy the mobile phone when it is on sale. I highly recommend this Motorola mobile phone, especially those who have had a Motorola before. A-

Anyway, the Motorola V505 mobile phone is very similar to the Motorola V600 mobile although not as fancy: less pixels, etc. More info: check the specs. The good news is that with the Motorola V505 is the price, it is a cheap mobile, the speaker problem is gone. On the other end, the mobile phone speaker is still not loud enough to me and I have to use it most of the time one the max volume setting. I exchanged my V600 mobile phone for a Motorola V505. Shortly after I got the Motorola V600 mobile phone , I realized that its mobile receiver was quite distorted for medium and high volumes. I noticed the same problem on two other Motorola V600s mobile and decided to go for another mobile phone (since I could tell that intelligibility was affected). Optus recently decided to discontinue the Motorola V600 mobile phone... was it because of the distortion problem? My guess is that the Motorola V600 mobile speaker was not very powerful or can't be driven too hard (to limit acoustic echo?) and engineers at Motorola tried to boost it with some software compressor... unfortunately too much of it... The "mobile receiver" is farther away from the microphone. This translates into better signal-to-noise ratio in noisy environments, a louder speaker (although this aspect could be better with the V505 mobile) and potentially less acoustic echo. I love the fact there is no need to unlock the keyboard or make unintentional calls to friend while your "cheap mobile phone" is in a pocket or purse, which can be quite embarrassing. Also, I think that I don't really need the extra fanciness that the Motorola V600 mobile_phone offers. Finally, the mobile phone looks great. I was looking for a good Vodafone flip phone and I think I found it. Let me explain why I believe flip mobile phones are superior to block mobile phones: the microphone is closer to your mouth while the mobile phone receiver remains in front of your ear. You can actually press the mobile phone speaker against your ear in loud environments since you don't have to worry about depressing keys with your cheek bone. All in all a good effort. I would also consider this mobile phone cheap for its quality range. Cheap as in quality for money not cheap as in low quality cheap.
